Are you uke-curious?
Learn to play the ukulele on Saturday, May 5th, at 1:00 pm at the Seaside Public Library.
Musician-teachers, Kate Power and Steve Einhorn, travel in Johnny Appleseed fashion from town to town, introducing one and all to the fun of playing the ukulele. Kate and Steve will bring 30 ukes and will instruct beginners how to play these amazing instruments.
The mission of the Ukalaliens is to grow budding musicians from scratch.
It also provides an opportunity to the discover the little musical powerhouse that is the ukulele.
Kate and Steve are lifelong musicians, songwriters, artists and publishers. They are the creators of the Ukalaliens Songbook and companion CD, Homespun DVDs, and the book “You Can Play the Uku” volumes 1 and 2.
They formerly owned Portland’s historic Music Hub (1981-2006) until it transformed into a non-profit community center. After this, they ventured full-time into playing and teaching music.
The Ukalaian Workshop is sponsored by The Friends of the Seaside Library.
