Beginning January 10th and running through March 4th the Seaside Public Library will be exhibiting original oil paintings by artist Ben Benjamin. The show is titled, “Our Travels” and will be presented in the Library foyer and Community Room.
Ben Benjamin has been drawing and painting since he was a child – from cartoons depicting the daily life of family and friends to drawings of sports figures and the hot rod and classis cars he loved (and still loves!). Excelling in art classes throughout his education, he began painting in oils as a high school student in Yakima, Washington, and continued painting in that medium throughout his life.
Soon after marrying his wife, Linda, he served his country in the U.S Navy during the Vietnam era. For many years he focused on his family and his career before getting back to his love of painting in the 1990s. He and Linda have traveled widely, and Ben has found inspiration in the scenic wonders he has seen on those travels. He takes photographs from which he paints landscapes, depictions of architectural wonders, peaceful villages, coastal scenes and seascapes. These travels, wonders, and scenes will be on full display as Ben presents, “Our Travels” to the community.
